"I believe that healthcare needs to be equal parts knowledge and evidence-based science balanced with the compassion and openness to work collaboratively with patients. You, as the patient, know your body best, and by sharing your experiences, symptoms, and concerns, you are often offering us, as healthcare practitioners, the puzzle pieces. My job then, becomes being the person who can help put the puzzle together, and identify where there are missing pieces that that need to be found. I love this approach, and having so much time to spend with patients and truly listen to them is my favourite part of my role as a physician.

About Dr. Robyn Land, ND

I remember my. grade 7 teacher asking our class what we thought the meaning of life was. While there was a huge range of answers. At the end of the discussion, Mr. Murphy offered up his meaning: "to take care of others." Reflecting back, I feel like that resonated deeply with me and has guided me on this path as a physician and teacher.

I took a round about way to becoming a physician by starting in the field of environmental studies and education, then becoming a yoga teacher, a doula, and a retreat facilitator, to completing the pre-requisite schooling to be accepted into the medical training program to become a naturopathic doctor. While my 12 years of post-secondary education took me on quite a journey, I feel like its giving me a wide foundation to base a healthcare practice from.

In 2016, I founded Local Health Integrative Clinic in East Vancouver and have grown that practice from a small, 3 room clinic on Commercial Drive, to the current thriving practice in our Clark Drive space that hosts a full-size yoga studio, 14 treatment rooms, and a team of 50 healthcare practitioners, yoga teachers, and admin team.

In 2023, I co-facilitated a yoga teacher training in Powell River, BC and quickly fell in love with the area and the community. A year later, my family and I moved to the qathet region, where I now feel honoured to live full-time and have a small solo practice within Townsite Allied Health. I continue to run Local Health remotely, see my Vancouver (and BC-wide) patients by telemedicine, and return to Vancouver every 4-6 weeks to see patients in person.

After going through my own journey with infertility, I have developed a focus in women's health support - particularly around fertility and pregnancy, as well as the perimenopausal journey.

Along with being a naturopathic doctor, I am also a public speaker, a published author, a wife, and a mama to a vibrant kiddo, a huge fluffy dog, and two funny cats.
